Margarine causes divorce (and other dubious conclusions)

We’ve written before about the dangers of misreading data and mistaking correlation for causation. So this humorous site, on the striking correlations between completely unrelated trends, definitely caught our eye.

One of our favorites: divorce rates in Maine have moved downward in lockstep with per capita consumption of margarine. Is butter, then, the secret to marital bliss? Well, let’s just say that further research is definitely needed.
